The Power of Belief
Last week, I started my full-out, no-holds-barred commitment to getting back in shape and losing the 10 pounds I had gained since my accident. With the accident 2 months ago, I had been unable to work out and with that came a downward spiral of eating more. I am just beginning to work out again now and with that my healthy food choices come easier. By staying true to the cleanse I was able to drop 10 pounds in 2 weeks. I decided I was done with the steady incline of the scale and took control. The power that making up your mind brings is endless. What you believe in, will happen.
The amazing power your belief and mind have over a situation, outcome, or overall life is fascinating. Point in case, recently we read a case study that certainly attests to the power of belief.
Anthony Robbin’s Unlimited Power describes a case of a psychiatric patient with a split personality. One of her personalities was diabetic, while another was not. Her blood sugars would be normal when she was in her non-diabetic personality, but then when she shifted into her diabetic alter ego, her blood sugars rose, and all medical evidence demonstrated that she was diabetic. When her personality flipped back to the non-diabetic counterpart, her blood sugars normalized.
Beliefs can be either empowering or limiting. This insight makes an enormous difference in the way we perceive our reality. It is what we believe in that creates our barriers and limitations or allows us to soar. Only once we realize we have control over our thoughts and beliefs is the door of opportunity flung open wide. Believe you can and you will.
Your beliefs are picked up by your subconscious so you have to fill your mind with positive convictions about being able to achieve your goals. Your subconscious is always creating your life based on these convictions. So begin to change, create and craft what you believe so that you send the right messages to the subconscious mind in order for it to begin to construct the situations you want and for you to be able to achieve your goals. Believe and achieve.
High achievement and goal attainment takes belief in yourself - but from time to time setbacks will be experienced that will trip you up from the path to success. It’s your willingness to get up, dust yourself off and plow through set back after set back that will allow you to continue your pursuit of living your dreams and attaining your goals. Allow the belief in yourself to create a vision so big that you don’t care how often you fall - you continue to get up and demand success. Accept nothing else. Failure is not an option. Continue until you achieve because you know you can.
